STAR Center hosts Junior Achievement of South Florida and is Featured in Episode of "Salty Jobs"

STAR Center hosted a group from the Junior Achievement of South Florida on Tuesday June 27th. Junior Achievement of South Florida empowers our youth with the knowledge, ability and confidence to navigate their futures, drive our economy, and lead our community.

The purpose of the visit was to educate the group on seagoing employment opportunities, particularly our in-house TECH Apprentice Engineer program. During the visit STAR Center presentations on STAR Center's training programs and the advantages of sailing with AMO were provided, as well as an overview of the TECH program. The visit concluded with a tour of STAR Center's full mission bridge and engine room simulators.

The visit arose as a result of meeting the coordinator of the Junior Achievement when he co-hosted a recent episode of Salty Jobs that featured STAR Center and the TECH Apprentice Engineer program. You can see the video here.

As a MARAD Center of Excellence (CoE) Center of Excellence for Domestic Maritime Workforce Training and Education designee, STAR Center is committed to fostering ongoing maritime domain awareness and outreach in the greater maritime community.
