is a not-for-profit maritime
training school that is the
top choice of inland and ocean going professional mariners throughout the world.
Opening in 1983 in our
Toledo, Ohio
location, we expanded to our
current location in
Dania
Beach, Florida (just south of Fort Lauderdale) in
1986, consolidating all training there in October
2008. After extensive facility improvements, we
opened for business with the world's first 360 degree
field of view Full Mission bridge simulator, and a
second 247 (recently upgraded to 270) degree field of view bridge simulator,
in 1993. We
now offer more U.S. Coast Guard and other approved
courses than any simulation training center. These
courses meet USCG, STCW and IMO Model requirements, as
well as many additional courses designed by our in-house
Curriculum Development team to meet company-specific
training requirements.

In 1999 we upgraded our 360 Bridge with the Sperry 2100 Integrated Bridge System. Equipped with the SIMRAD® Dynamic Positioning control system, this is state-of-the-art technology fitted in the very newest and most modern ships in the world. Suppliers of STAR Center's advanced technologies include Kongsberg Maritime Simulation Systems (KMSS), Sperry Marine®, SIMRAD® DP, Transas® ECDIS, KAMEWA joystick, Offshore Systems Ltd's ECPINS®, PinPoint electronic charts, Poseidon® GMDSS, Furuno® radar, Raytheon® radar and Sperry® radar. STAR Center is dedicated to providing the highest quality instruction at the most competitive prices. Our courses are tailored to your individual needs and fully integrated to ISM and company policies. We can create your STCW implementation curriculum and "Train The Trainer'" programs. STAR Center also features in-house modeling capabilities for port development, ship response models, research and forensic maritime studies.
